Why Your Office Is Freezing In The Summer

Grabbing a sweater to stay comfortable…during the summer? Stifling temperatures should not result in turning your office into a thermostat-created igloo.  Let’s learn how to keep your building at the perfect temperature so that your sweater can stay tucked away until next season – besides, when was the last time a winter wardrobe made its way into your summer wardrobe?

Luckily, there are solutions to resolve this ongoing workplace issue.

Solution one: install more thermostats throughout the building. This allows colleagues to have more control over the temperature near their designated work space. Although this comes with a hefty price tag, workers pay the price in discomfort and decreased productivity in the meantime.

Solution two: location, location, location! Did you know? Air coming out of a vent is 10 to 15 degrees colder than room temperature? If your desk is next to an air conditioning vent, you may unfortunately bear the chilly consequences. Try rearranging the location of your desk to stay clear of the AC breeze.

Solution three: have access to a window? Open it up! To offset the arctic conditions, open a window to allow for natural, fresh air ventilation.

By following these simple steps, your workplace will feel more comfortable no matter what part of the building, or the time of year. No need to snuggle up in a sweater during the workday anymore!
